Ebrington Parish

Covering Charingworth, Ebrington, Hidcote Bartrim and Hidcote Boyce

The foreman of the Piper Homes Ebrington Rise development site has advised Ebrington Parish Council that in the near future they will be removing large quantities of spoil (soil and rubble etc.) from the site on instructions issued by the Enforcement Officer at Cotswold District Council.

This removal is from the area designated as "Public Open Space," which is to be returned to its original levels.

We are led to believe that all loading will be carried out on site and that the lorries will be using the main site entrance onto the Charingworth Road. Our understanding is that all lorries will then turn left and go through Charingworth to the Shipston Road.

The empty lorries will come back the same way and enter the site in the same way.

We have been told that no lorries will use Elm Grove.

Because of the large quantities of spoil involved, we are told that this removal will take a considerable amount of time and that it may start within the next ten days.

We do not know how this will fit in with the forthcoming road closure.

Piper Homes have assured Ebrington Parish Council that they want to keep any inconvenience to residents to a minimum, but at this time of year there may be more dust created and there may be more noise on site.

As such we would ask residents to be tolerant whilst this task is carried out.

We also expect the lorry movements to be weather dependant to avoid large amounts of mud being carried out of the site if conditions become wet.

We will endeavour to let you know the actual start date as soon as we are made aware of it.

If you have any comments or concerns regarding the details above please contact The Clerk to Ebrington Parish Council in the first instance and the Parish Council will then liaise with Piper Homes, if required, and respond accordingly.
